This collection includes some of my all-time favorites. These are songs that stop me in my tracks, impelling me to place my hand over my heart like I’m back in the fifth grade reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. They demand that I listen. They transport me somewhere else. If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.
I think that Winter is not a cheerful season, and all of the happy Christmas jingles in the whole world can’t change my mind. Spooky season starts in Fall and extends through Winter, in my opinion, so many of these tracks are on the more introspective and melancholy side.
I’m sure there are plenty of cheerful winter/holiday playlists out there if moping for the holidays isn’t your jam. If you have one you love, feel free to share it with me. I can add some list recommendations here for other moods.
I may change the rabbit-in-the-top-hat thumbnail eventually. I purchased some watercolor paper to play around with and this was my first experiment. I was inspired by Buddy the rabbit from the book version of Practical Magic. 🥕
